Day 01. Arrive Leh

Arrival at Leh airport, you shall be picked up by Buddha Vacations representative holding the placard on your name. Meet assist and later you shall be transferred to hotel. Leh is situated at the high altitude of 3524 meters so your full day will be free in hotel to take rest and for acclimatization. You may go to visit local market in Leh. Overnight stay.

Day 02. Leh

Morning leisurely breakfast in hotel we are going to explore the Leh and its surroundings by bicycle. Visit 16th Century Leh Palace and Museum and transfer back to hotel.
Evening bike up to the Shanti Stupa which was built by a Japanese Buddhist in collaboration with Peace Pagoda Mission. Bike back to hotel. Overnight stay.

Day 03. Leh-Stok Palace-Spituk Monastery-Leh

Today post breakfast we cycle 15kms to Stok Palace (19th Century palatial structure famous for its contemporary traditional architecture). You may see the beautiful gardens and a library which has the collection of 108 volumes of teachings of Buddha.

Later proceed to visit Spituk Monastery by on the way see famous Indus River alongside (from which India drives its name). Spituk Monastery (Spituk Gompa) was founded in the 1th Century and now it is the home to more than 100 monks.

Evening transfer back to Leh and Overnight stay.

Day 04. Leh-Shey-Thikshey-Hemis-Leh

Today cycling to the most famous monasteries in Ladakh situated at the picturesque location.
Cycling to Shey (15kms) which was the ancient capital of Ladakh and now home to a ruined castle and monastery and it has the large giant statue of Lord Buddha.
Thereafter we bike up to Thikshey monastery which is situated on top of a sacred hill above the village on a quiet picturesque location. It has many monk quarters and chortens (reliquary monuments).
Now we proceed to Hemis monastery which is considered as the largest monastery and biggest monastic institution in Ladakh region. It was founded in 17th century.

Transfer back to Leh and transfer to hotel. Overnight stay.

Day 05. Leh – Alchi (60kms)

Today after breakfast we go to enjoy river rafting in Indus River and later proceed to Alchi by bicycle. Alchi is 60kms from Leh. On the way we will visit Nimmu village, Basgo village and the ancient caves of Saspol where Buddhist hermits used to meditate. Enjoy cycling across the Indus River.
Visit the world famous Alchi monastery which is located in Alchi village on the bank of indus river at an altitude of around 3500 meters and above.
Evening transfer to hotel and overnight stay.

Day 06. Alchi-Lamayuru-Alchi

Today we bike to Lamayuru which is famous for its ‘Lunar’ Landscapes and ancient monastery and it is knows as a moonscape village. It is the home of 10th Century old monastery.
Evening back to Alchi and transfer to hotel. Overnight stay.

Day 07. Alchi-Rizong-Leh

Today we bike to Rizong monastery, it is one of the newest and most isolated monastery in Ladakh region. It was founded in 1833 and it has no settlements nearby.
Later continue biking to Leh with Indus River along the way. Transfer to hotel overnight stay.

Day 08. Leh- Khardung la- Leh

Today we bike to Khardung La (Khardung Pass) situated at a high altitude of 5359 meters and it is considered as the highest motorable pass in the world. Enjoy the snow-capped Stok Range, Khadungla is more than 700 meters higher than Mont Blanc which is the highest alpine summit.
Later cycle back to Leh and transfer to hotel. Overnight stay.

Day 09. Leh Departure

Today say Good bye to Leh Ladakh and your cycling expedition ends here. We shall drop you at Leh airport for your flight to onward journey.
